Patricia June Bowcott

Bowcott, Patricia June “Pat”, 62 of Gainesville died at her home on Saturday, September 14, 2013.  Pat was born on November 4th, 1950 in Evansville, IN and was an Insurance Claims Adjuster for Nationwide Insurance until her retirement.  After retiring, Pat went back to work at North Florida Regional Medical Center in the Intermediate Care Unit.

Known affectionately as the “Peanut Butter Ball Lady” to many, she made thousands of them and loved to pass them out to everyone. Pat loved children and animals, and enjoyed being a caregiver to anyone that needed help, often saying after she became ill that she was a much better caregiver than receiver.  Pat was a lifelong blood donor and became a fanatic about the Pink Ribbon and supporting breast cancer awareness.

Pat was predeceased in death by her father Alfred Wydau, Jr. and is survived by her husband of 39 years Andrew Bowcott, her mother June Wydau of Evansville, IN, her  sister Colette Walinski (Dick) of Gainesville, her brother Dennis Wydau (Judy) of Shelbyville, IN, her niece Shannon Wydau of Shelbyville, IN, her cousin Linda Schnautz of New Castle, IN, and her favorite “nephew” Mags.

Funeral services for Pat will be held on Thursday, September 19th, 2013 at 10:00am in the Chapel in the Meadows, inside Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central, 4100 NW 39th Ave. Gainesville. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, September 18th, 2013 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rdv Ave., Gainesville, FL, 32609, (352)378-2528.

Our condolences to Colette and her family. Pat was an amazing woman who I will always remember. She had a lot of fight in her, but also had compassion, dignity, and grace. She will be missed, but we are happy to know she is no longer in pain.

    Love,
    Cristina, Jon, and Baby Bee
