Patton “Pat” Dees, 84 of Gainesville died at her home on Thursday, September 26, 2013. Pat was born in Jacksonville on July 8th, 1929 to Julian and Roberta Dart. Pat graduated from Florida State University where she participated in the FSU Flying Circus, she was a trapeze artist before she found her true calling as a clown.
Pat and her husband Leonard of 62 years were owners of the Gold Coast Restaurant and the College Inn Cafeteria. She had many interests, she enjoyed tennis and sang with the Sweet Adeline’s. She was also an excellent bowler, where she achieved much success on the local and state level, even bowling with Dick Webber.
Pat is survived by her husband Leonard, a son Leonard “Butch” Dees (Judi) and a daughter Karen Privett (William), a brother Robert Dart (Jean), her grandchildren Erica Holm, Brian Privett, Lisa Gonzalez and a precious great granddaughter Brianne Elaine Privett.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dees will be held on Monday, September 30, 2013 at noon in the Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central’s Chapel in the Meadows, 4100 NW 39th Ave. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum. A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 29th, 2013 from 1pm-3pm at the Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rd Ave, Gainesville.
