Stermer, Pearl Roulette, 94 of Gainesville, passed away on April 1, 2014 at the North Florida Specialty Care Center. Pearl was born in New Market, VA on September 26, 1919 to Robert and Rosie Ewing. Pearl married George Stermer and they moved to Washington, DC until the start of WWII when they moved to Norfolk, VA. Upon George’s retirement from the Norfolk Naval Air Station, they moved to Martinsville, VA where he worked for several years as a bookkeeper in his son George’s dental practice. Pearl and her husband joined Elizabeth and Herman Jones in Orlando and later moved to Gainesville when Elizabeth and Herman acquired the Krispy Kreme Donut franchise in Gainesville.
Pearl was a homemaker and enjoyed bowling, golf, knitting and crocheting.
Pearl is predeceased by her husband George and is survived by her son Dr. George A. Stermer, Jr(Carol) of Martinsville, VA, daughters Patricia D. Ambs(Thomas) and Elizabeth Jones(Herman) both of Gainesville and a sister Theresa Justice of Pennsylvania.
Funeral service for Mrs. Stermer will be held on Friday, April 4th, 2014 at 11:00am at the Forest Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Forest Meadows Funeral Home.
Great memories always come to mind when I think of Pearl. Sending love and prayers to George,Betty ,Pat and family. PS. I bought my first car from Pearl and Al when I was 19 yrs old..
