Phillip E. Snyder

Phillip E. Snyder, 78, of Williston, FL passed away on November 19, 2015 at Shands at UF. He was born November 26, 1936 in South Charleston, WV to Robert W. Snyder and Ana Tyler Snyder. While working, he was an auto parts salesman for White Auto Parts and Carquest Auto Parts.

Mr. Snyder was a veteran of the US Air Force, a member of ASA Alachua County, Santa Fe College Advisory Committee for Automotive Technology, and the Roe Fulkerson Lodge 229 Masonic Lodge. He worked for many years organizing golf tournaments and other fund raisers for the benefit of ARC of Alachua County and the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. He met no strangers, only potential friends, had a terrific sense of humor and a great love of family.

Survivors include his wife, Carylon; daughters, Denise Snyder and Michelle Blanton both of Gainesville; son, Jeff (Lisa) Miller of Grafton, WV; grandsons Andrew, Matthew and Ethan Blanton of Gainesville, Steven (Chloe) Miller, Karl Maley and Keith Maley all of WV; granddaughters, Kristi Hannon, Tiffany (Mike) Shrewbury, Michelle (Sklar) Vermillion, Megan Miller all of WV and Mary Rose Maley of Colorado; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert R. Snyder and sister, Betty Snyder Burdett.

A Memorial Service will be at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rd Ave on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 4:00 PM with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SWUMC, 2400 SW Williston Road, Gainesville or United Methodist Children’s Home.
