Richard Martin Davidson was born February 12, 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio and died in Gainesville, FL at the age of 70 on July 27, 2013.
A Vietnam veteran, he proudly served with the United States Navy from 1964 through 1968. Following his military service, he graduated from the Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry in 1975 and practiced family dentistry in Gainesville for many years.
After retiring from his dental practice, he attended Santa Fe College School of Construction and became a licensed building contractor. As a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, he participated in building several homes.
He was a skilled woodworker and created many pieces of finely crafted furniture. When his son participated in the Boy Scouts, he was a Boy Scout Leader. An enthusiastic fan of Gator Baseball, Richard was a member of the Gator Dugout Club.
He leaves behind his wife, Linda, two children; Michael Davidson of Seattle, WA and Laura Davidson Aeder of Gainesville, FL, three grandchildren; Hank, Everett and Kellen, and four sisters; his twin Linda Cook, Dody Terry, Mary Kahelin, and Ruth Duale.
Richard was a generous giver of his time and talents. He was a loving and involved grandfather. He will be sorely missed.
Please accept my condolences on the loss of your dear loved one. Take comfort in knowing that our heavenly Creator will soon remove all pain, sorrow, and death forever! May this promise as recorded in Revelation 21:3,4 be of comfort as you gain the strength and inner peace to cope with the days ahead. Philippians 4:13
Hi Linda: Just found about Richard, had no idea he had passed away in 2013. We are sorry for your loss. After buying your house at 705 Washington Street, we are moving into our new house here in Cadillac, Michigan. We have lived at 705 since the day you sold us this house—-34 wonderful years! Often wondered about Michael and Laura? Hope they are doing well and loving life. I tried to preach to my 8th graders in my Social Studies here in Cadillac: “Every day is a gift”! Take care Linda, Tim/Char Elenbaas, 705 Washington Street, Cadillac, Michigan.
