ROCKEY, ROBERT E.

Robert (Bob) Edwin Rockey, 90, of Gainesville, passed away August 25, 2018 at Haven Hospice. Mr. Rockey was born September 22, 1927, in Northampton, Massachusetts and moved to Gainesville in 1965, when he was transferred by General Electric.

He is survived by five children Jonathan R. Rockey (Katherine) of Palmer, AK, David C. Rockey (Donna) of Davenport, Fl, Martha J. Reaves (Mark) of Chiefland, Fl, Stephen J. Rockey (Lori) of Wildwood, Fl, James H. Rockey (Martha), of Belleview, Fl, 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren…so far!

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church, 1801 NW 5th Ave., Gainesville, Fl with Pastor John Glover, and Pastor Ken Chitwood officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10-11 AM. Burial will follow at Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central Cemetery 4100 NW 39th Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Lutheran Church, 1801 NW 5th Ave., Gainesville, Fl 32603.

Bob was a faithful, yet humble servant and witness of Christ in all he did. He actively served his Lord at First Lutheran Church holding every position of leadership over the years. He loved spending time with his family. He fought the good fight of faith and ended the race!
