Robert Michael Galocy, 78, passed away on October 13, 2017, after a long illness. He was born on December 30, 1938, to Michael and Margaret Galocy. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister in law, Karen M. Galocy. Bob is survived by his loving wife and caregiver of 52 years, Judith Kurtz Galocy; his devoted sons and caregivers, Scott R. (Elizabeth) Galocy, and David M. (Kelly) Galocy; and his brother, Ray. Papa Bob is survived by his four grandchildren; Chris, Zach, Quinn, and Haley Galocy as well as his 5 nephews and 5 nieces. Bob was employed by Inland Steel where he was a Spectral Chemist in quality control and the BOF and Electric Furnace for 38 years. He was drafted in 1962 into the US Army where he served his country until 1966. Bob graduated with an associate’s degree from Purdue University. A devout Catholic, Bob contributed too many charities. He was a member of the Stonecrest Veteran’s Club and also a devoted Notre Dame fan. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to Leader Dogs for the Blind, www.leaderdog.org. There will be a funeral mass held at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1351 Paige Pl, Lady Lake, FL 32159, on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 8:30am.
