Stephen Earl Williams of Alachua passed from his earthly life on Wednesday, April 23, at 5:55 a.m. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean Annette Williams. Mr. Williams was born on February 2, 1927, in New York City and moved to Florida as an infant.
He is survived by four daughters, Ellen (Michael) Kenney of Keystone Heights, Cogie (Jeh) Horton of Mansfield, TX, Alice (Clarence) Taylor of Gainesville, and Cindy Williams of Rockford, IL. He also leaves eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Williams was a sergeant in the Army during World War II. For over fifty years he owned and operated Williams Cabinet Shop in Gainesville, making custom wood cabinets.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Nature Coast Hospice of High Springs, 150 N. Main Street, High Springs, FL.
Funeral services for Mr. Williams will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 11:00am in the Forest Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, with a visitation one hour prior starting at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Forest Meadows Memorial Park East’s Military Garden of Honor.
