Sylvia “Pat” Bass Fox

Sylvia “Pat” Bass Fox of Gainesville, FL passed away November 12, 2012 at North Florida Regional Medical Center.  She was 70.

 

Mrs. Fox was born in Lumberton, NC on May 5, 1942 to James Howard Bass and Mary Dew Bass.  She moved to Gainesville in 1980 from Topeka, KS.  Mrs. Fox was a registered nurse and until her retirement in 1991 was the head nurse at the VA nursing home, which she helped to open.

 

Mrs. Fox is survived by her husband of 49 years, Charles F. “Chuck” Fox of Gainesville, daughter, Emily Fox (George Harnden), brothers, James H. Bass, Jr. (Joann) and Michael G. Bass (Phyllis), sisters, Kimberly Bass Parsons (Edwin) and Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Mathieu (Raymond).

 

Memorial Services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rd Ave, Gainesville with Rev. Dr. Jim Lehman officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Nature Coast Hospice.  Arrangements are under the care of Forest Meadows Funeral Home (352) 378-2528.

    Our deepest sympathy to Chuck, “Tiny” and the rest of the family. We will miss seeing Pat out and about walking “Tiny” in the neighborhood and our conversations with her. Let us know how you all are doing.
