Terrell M. “Terry” Turner

Mr. Terrell M. “Terry” Turner, 69, of Fort White passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 12, 2014. Mr. Turner was born in Saint Petersburg, FL to the late Elizabeth and Howard Turner, but had lived in the Fort White area for over 40 years. While in school Mr. Turner was a member of the varsity football team at Saint Petersburg High School. Mr. Turner was a 40 year member of the Mikesville Presbyterian Church, and served as a Church Elder and Church Treasurer during that time. Mr. Turner will always be remembered as an avid Gator Fan.

Mr. Turner is survived by his wife of 51 years Diane Turner, his daughters Betty “B.J.” Hobbs (Bob) of Jacksonville, FL, Wendy Swafford (Dan) of Cary, NC, Amy Bonds (Mike) of Sanford, NC, and Holly Moses (Brian) of Gainesville, FL, his sisters Linda Johnston of Santa Rosa Beach, FL and Kathie Jarrell of Alachua, FL, an aunt Betty Turner Kilgore of Gainesville, FL, and his grandchildren Andrew Holton, Alex Holton, Emily Swafford, Elizabeth Swafford, Jenna Bonds, and Turner Moses.

Graveside funeral services will be held for Mr. Turner 11:00 AM Thursday, July 17, 2014 in the Mikesville Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Reverend Rhonda Link-Cummings officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Mikesville Presbyterian Church, 384 SE Clubhouse Lane, Lake City, FL 32024. Arrangements are under the direction of Evans-Carter Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St, High Springs, FL 32643 (386)454-2444.

    Even though words may seem meaningless at a time like this, I want you to know how deeply sorry and saddened Jake and I am to hear about Terry. We are never prepared to lose someone, especially when it happens suddenly. If I could do something to make it easier, I would. Please know all of you are in our thoughts and prayers. We love you!!!     My deepest sympathy goes out the the family. I did not know Mr. Turner but know his sister, Kathie, and based on my friendship with her he must have been an amazing individual. Thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.
