Ulysses Cobb, Sr.

Ulysses Cobb, Sr. passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 at E.T. York Hospice Care Center. He was born December 23, 1938 in Greenville, FL to David Cobb and Willie Mae Green Cobb.

Mr. Cobb was employed for 30 years with the City of Gainesville. He was a landlord of residential rental properties and enjoyed his visits with his tenants. He was a member of Pilgrim Rest Church of God in Unity and loved his Lord and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Annie, his son, Ulysses, Jr., 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by wife, Sadie; 4 sons, Roger Robinson, Vernard Hooker, Dwayne L. Hooker, and Elijah D. Hooker; 2 daughters, Delma S. Cobb-Aaron and Natacha D. Hooker; four brothers, five sisters, God-daughter, Donna Johnson, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Friends may pay their respects at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rd Avenue, Gainesville on Friday, March 23 from noon until 4:00 PM. Funeral Services will be at Passage Family Church, 2020 NE 15th Street on Saturday, March 24 at 10:00 A.M. The cortege will leave the family’s residence at 9:20 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pilgrim Rest Church of God in Unity.
