William F. Lachman

William F. “Bill” Lachman Jr. 73, passed away on April 23, 2012 at North Florida Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.

He was born on May 3, 1938, to William and Viola Lachman in Akron, Ohio. Bill graduated from Landon High School in Jacksonville Florida, in 1956, enlisted in the United States Coast Guard serving 6 years.

Bill was employed by the Alachua County Property Appraisers Office as a Property Appraiser II for 15 years, retiring in 2007.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Alice Lachman, his son Michael (Christi) Lachman, 2 grandchildren Cole Ashton Lachman, and Peyton Leanne Lachman of Burleson, Texas, two brothers Edward Lachman (Terrie) of St. Petersburg, Fl., Larry Lachman(Delores) of The Villages, Fl. And a sister, Mary Scaramuzzino (Dom) of Bethany, Ct. , a sister-in-law Mary Camariotes of Long Beach, MS.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rd Avenue, Gainesville, Fl 32609.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the American Heart Association.
