Wilson Harold Martin

3/4/1925  - 5/29/2012

Wilson Harold Martin, 87, of Gainesville passed away May 29, 2012 at Shands at UF.  Harold was born in Enterprise, AL and moved to Gaiensville 56 years ago to Opp, AL.  He retired as a Circuit Administrator Probation and Parole Services for the State of Florida.  Harold was an active member and former deacon at University City Church of Christ, a member of Kiwanis, and a past member of the Board of Director of the Boys Club.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Daisy Cotney Martin, son Bruce Cotney Martin (Christine) of Newberry, daughter, Harriet Martin Sespico (Eric) of Tallahassee; grandchildren, Zachary and Jacob and several nephews, great nephews and great-nieces.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 2:00 at University City Church of Christ, 4626 NW 8th Ave. with a nephew, Joe Griffin, officiating.  Entombment will follow at Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central Mausoleum.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rd Ave.
